Principal’s Appeal for a fixed Deposit Fund Dear old students, parents and well wishers, Your Alma mater J/Pungudutivu Maha Vidyalaya is highly delighted of your progress abroad. At this juncture she expects you to extend your helping hand to her to execute fully her services to the school. Although the physical needs of the school (building, furniture) could be fulfilled with the financial assistance of the government, we anticipate your assistance to carry out the school’s essential needs and Co-Curricular activities. In view of developing the school, we are bound to fulfill the following indispensable needs. 1 Providing drinking water for the school students 2 Buying necessary detergents for cleaning toilets 3 Conducting the annual inter-house sports meet 4 Organizing religious and cultural functions (eg: Thai Pongal, Tamil Day, Teacher’s Day, Navaraththiri, Carol service) 5 Holding prize giving day to encourage the students in their studies. 6 Encouraging the students selected for football at the provincial level to participate in the nation level by providing shoes, uniforms and the service of the coach to train them. 7 Organizing additional classes for our students who are backward in subjects like mathematics, science and English and boost their educational performance. 8 Honoring students of our school who pass the grade 5 scholarship exam obtain best result at the G.C.E.O/L exam and enter the university after passing the G.C.E.A/L exam. 9 Providing educational tools to students who have lost their mother or father or both and reside with their relatives who are below the poverty line. 10 Providing uniforms for Band players. 11 Allocating additional money to provide standard and testy meal as the money granted by the government for lunch is insufficient. 12 Compensating the increasing bills for electricity and telephone services. With Love Mr.S.Ganeswaran  B.A, Dip in Ed, M.Ed Fixed Deposit Fund (Co-Curricular Trust) We have opened up a Fixed Deposit Fund Named Co-Curricular Trust for our school and deposited nine lakhs of Rupees (Rs 900,000) at the initial stage. We are jubilant to bring this good news through our website www.pungudutivumv.com to the attention of our old students, teachers, parents and well wishers spread out world wide. At the same time, on behalf of the school community, we extend our thanks to our loving old students who donated the money to initiate the setting up of the fund. Also I would like to thank Mr.S.Thanapalasundaram who assisted with the collection of the funds. The purpose of the co-curricular Trust Fund is to promote learning among students by financing the co-curricular activities such as sports meet, Tamil Day, English Day, Prize giving, Navarathiri and Carol service. The money deposited in the Co-Curricular Trust Fund is fixed and can be never withdrawn. The Co-Curricular Trust Fund permits the Board of Trustees nominated specially for this purpose to spend only the interest money accrued on the deposited Fund for the Co-Curricular activities.
